About Us
Shree Gramy Seva Sangathan, based in Rapar, Gujarat, has been serving the underprivileged for 22 years. Founded in 2002 with P.N.A.R. Trust, Bhavnagar, it began with polio corrective surgery camps and established a physiotherapy center in 2003, supported by local donors and community contributions. The organization provided affordable treatment to over 1,500 patients, including 500+ polio cases and earthquake victims by 2005. From 2002-2006, it facilitated over 600 polio surgeries and distributed free assistive devices to 2,000 disabled individuals. In 2004, a Day Care Center for 35 children with cerebral palsy and intellectual disabilities was launched, running until 2012, fostering their social integration. Between 2013-2017, it engaged intellectually challenged youth in planting 7,000 trees and conducted cleanliness awareness campaigns through 24 street plays in 2014. Under PMKVY in 2019, it trained 330 individuals in sewing and retail for self-reliance. Since 2004, it has provided free treatment for critical illnesses like heart disease and cancer to over 1,000 children. During 2006-2009, it empowered 300+ disabled youth through vocational and bridge courses under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. The organization pioneered mental health rehabilitation in Rapar, adopting a holistic approach to reintegrate 35+ individuals into their families by 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it ensured the safety of 60+ residents, managed infections, and completed a therapeutic garden. In 2024, an ambulance donation enabled medical transport for 70 patients. Currently, it supports 60+ individuals with intellectual and mental health challenges, producing eco-friendly products for employment. Future plans include a modern psychiatric center, vocational hub, and old-age home to empower the marginalized with dignity and independence.
